Ready for the surprise act.
A THUNDEROUS ROAR is heard outside the ballroom. Guests look around surprised, eager to pinpoint the disturbance. Doors open, the roar gets louder and a lone figure enters, riding a gleaming Harley Davidson motorcycle. The Harley stops and the rider alights, dressed in a highly polished black leather jumpsuit, looking lean and mean. The crowd is taken back thirty years…
ELVIS PRESLEY.
He crosses the stage, straddles the mike, rocks gently, turns and growls, just fooling around a little, then he lets rip…
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR TROUBLE, (the legs spread wide, pelvis thrusting)
YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE, (A menacing sneer is given to the crowd)
I'M EVIL, MY MIDDLE NAME IS MISERY,
I'M EVIL, DON'T YOU MESS AROUND WITH ME!
The crowd go wild, but before they have the chance to applause, he gives his all, hard rock, hip swiveling in black leather, roaring through "Jailhouse Rock", "Blue Suede Shoes", "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Hound Dog", before slowing down the tempo with a swooning Ballad. He stops near a lady, he now is singing to her and her alone, every other woman wishes it was her …… "Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfill, for my darling I love you, (he leans forward and kisses here on the cheek) and I always will", before placing a scarf around her neck and drifting away.
Suddenly he steps in front of a table of onlookers, momentarily frozen, bathed in the spotlights, perspiration beading on his body, then his legs start jolting like pistons, hips swiveling and more as he lets rip a medley version of "Teddy Bear" and "Don't be Cruel"
Brian Childs, who won the "Search for Australasia's Best Elvis Impersonator" in 1995 can work in with DJ Richard to present a wedding reception like no other. Brian has been interviewed on all television channels in New Zealand and once via satellite from Las Vegas.
He has performed at countless functions around New Zealand and Australia, the biggest show so far in Auckland for 300, 000 people! He has also performed for many private functions from weddings to parties, keeping the memory of the King and his music alive….. FOREVER ELVIS!!!
