The correct selection of wedding music played at the right time, in the right sequence and at an appropriate volume can really help make a magical day complete. Over 30 years as a DJ has given Richard an unbeatable knowledge of what will appeal for all types of people, and all ages.
Musically Richard tailors each night’s entertainment by ‘reading’ guest’s responses to each track, taking into account their ages, personality types and reactions to songs. Most events start off with a set of popular 70s or 80s music as that tends to get most people onto the dance floor in his experience. Richard then takes the night in whichever direction it needs to go. Personal requests or supplied music on the night are most welcome and Richard has tens of thousands of great original tracks in his collection.
Richard tends to play songs in sets of four or five songs of a style of genre before transitioning into the next set. This gives a smooth continuity to the night rather than chopping and changing like a jukebox or an iPod on random. He also works with the music right from the beginning of the event to build to the time of the dancing, so guests are ready to get on the floor and celebrate. By discreetly ‘shifting gears’ with the music throughout the event, He is aiming to have toes tapping and get people warmed up ready to dance the night away rather than expect them to just suddenly switch on after hours of cocktail jazz or background music.
